This year is shaping up to be extra challenging. "Ticks can cause serious diseases like Lyme and Rocky Mountain spotted fever," says Alice Park, a senior correspondent for TIME. "Thanks to warming temperatures and changes in animal populations that serve as hosts for ticks, experts are gearing up for another bad season."
