EDITOR'S NOTE
In a two-part tweet Tuesday, President Trump called for a 1 percentage point rate cut and more quantitative easing from the Federal Reserve, upping the pressure on the central bank ahead of its interest rate decision tomorrow. CNBC's Jeff Cox will be covering the event from DC, and has three things to watch. First, the post-meeting news conference in which Chairman Jerome Powell could address mounting pressure from the White House. Second, Cox is eyeing the Fed's assessment of the economy and inflation. This is the first meeting since economic reports showed 3.2% GDP growth and a tame change in prices. And last but not least, any interest rate moves. Cox said the likelihood is low but it's not entirely off the table. TOP NEWS
