TIME

Dear Best,

Five short weeks ago, we published an issue titled "When the World Stops," which described what we all need to know about the global pandemic. Today, we released a new issue, "The Long Road Ahead," focused on how to restart the world. In it, senior health correspondent Alice Park writes about what science has to say about reopening, national political correspondent Molly Ball explores how the politics are playing out, and China-based Charlie Campbell reports on what’s worked and what’s backfired as parts of Asia have attempted to reopen. I hope you find it a helpful guide to some of the decisions we’ll all have to make in the months ahead. And we’ll continue to make new resources available to our readers as this crisis unfolds.

  • Later today, at 3:00pm ET, we’ll host the second of our free virtual TIME100 Talks, a conversation with chef and humanitarian José Andrés. His nonprofit organization, World Central Kitchen, has served more than 3 million meals, in some 155 cities, to vulnerable communities and frontline health care workers as part of its COVID-19 response. He’ll talk with senior editor Sean Gregory, who wrote our cover story about Andrés a few weeks ago.

  • If you were not able to join us for last week’s TIME100 Talks: "Finding Hope," you can still catch highlights from the event, including interviews with Dr. Anthony Fauci, Angelina Jolie, Drs. Larry Brilliant and Leana Wen, U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar, and a moving musical performance by John Legend. You can also sign up for our TIME100 Talks newsletter for updates on speakers and events in the weeks to come.

  • Our health team put together answers to the most commonly asked questions about the Coronavirus. You can find them here.

  • Need help keeping the kids busy? TIME for Kids has launched a free digital library to provide children grades K to 8 with age-appropriate information on what’s going on in the world. Our latest issue explores how kids around the world are taking action to help during the pandemic. Your kids can also participate in our free video class series, "Draw with Drew (and Rosie!)," which provides fun art classes and drawing challenges. Tune in today for a special Teacher Appreciation episode!

  • And if you don't already get our magazine delivered to your home, we would like to extend a special offer: 12 issues for $6.

Stay healthy and safe, and as always, don’t hesitate to reach out at eic@time.com

Warmly,

Edward
