I'm taking a break from our regularly scheduled programming this week to wish all of you a very happy Thanksgiving. I hope you're spending it with the people you love, eating some delicious food and recharging from the year.
There are so many things to be grateful for this year: Many states have reopened, some workers are back in the office, and, of course, vaccines have helped so many of us get back to many aspects of our lives. Covid-19 isn't behind us completely (get your booster shot!), but this holiday season will surely be cheerier than last year's for many of us.
Personally, I'm grateful for the slower pace this time of year, when I can settle down under a blanket with a book and disconnect without feeling like I'm missing anything.
I'm especially grateful to get to go to a real Thanksgiving dinner this year and see my family for Christmas next month, after not going home for the holidays last year. If the last 18 months have shown me anything, it's that the little things matter.
For those of you, like me, who have lost loved ones in the past year, I hope you can still find some beauty throughout the holiday season. Even through the grief, there's a lot to be thankful for.
Finally, I'm grateful for all of our readers and subscribers. Thanks for sticking around.
