How A Reagan Ally Delayed the Hostages' Release in Tehran

For 43 years, it was widely believed that someone on Ronald Reagan’s team or in his orbit orchestrated Iran’s delayed release of 52 American citizens taken when the Muslim Student Followers overran the U.S. embassy and embarrassed President Jimmy Carter. Investigations came up inconclusive, but now with Carter in hospice care, a former political insider is telling The New York Times how he and Sen. John Connally jetted around the Middle East with a message to leaders: they could get a better deal with the incoming Reagan Administration than with the Carter Administration, which grew weaker by the day as Americans lost faith in a government that couldn’t bring the Americans home.

Trump Lawyers Look to Nix a Grand Jury Report in Georgia

A special purpose grand jury recommended indictments against those who sought to meddle in Georgia’s presidential election in 2000. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that Trump’s team wants to stop the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office and any other prosecutors from using any evidence uncovered by the panel as unconstitutionally obtained.
