Hiya parents,

Last week I asked you about who worried about the kids' schedule more, moms or dads? Who stayed on top of it, who made sure the kid was where he or she should be when, who did the mental work of childcare. I received, I would say, a range of responses, including from one guy who put everything he had to say about my flaws as a parent in the subject line of the email and left the body of the email blank. (He managed to squeeze in a good amount of information for that small space.) Another father, Eddie, wrote to encourage me to tell the stories of fathers who are doing it right. But some moms also let me know that they felt the administrative, scheduling, worrying burden seemed to always fall on them. I had an excuse this week to walk home along the route I used to pick the kids up from school and I remember how stressful it was to get there on time and then turn around and go to train station and get home. I came to hate that station. But I wouldn't mind doing that one more time.

I'm at belinda.luscombe@time.com or @luscombeland on Twitter. Feel free to follow me, but not necessarily my parenting philosophy.

Was fascinated by the chart this week, which showed that of all the groups in the U.S. who are delaying getting married and having kids—and it is everyone, pretty much—young Asian adults are delaying the most. Fewer than half of them have started a family by their early 30s. Institute for Family Studies

Family sharing is a wonderful idea in concept. In practice though, it can get pretty hairy, especially if the stuff your sharing is access to music, as this mom found out. TIME

Concussion has been linked to a number of behavioral and health problems. Now a new study shows that a surprisingly high number of U.S. teens have had a concussion, sparking some concern among health advocates. TIME

So much has changed in the realms of parenthood in the last decade and a half. Chic pregnancy clothes, those huge Bugaboo strollers, texting, online music sharing. But oddly, the technology around breastfeeding has not. New Yorker

This actually popped into my inbox last week, but I had too much to share. It's a nifty guide with the latest in parenting thought, and it echoes the theme of these newsletters. Don't worry, be as loving as possible, don't force your kid to be something he or she is not and it will probably work out. The good thing about this summary though, is that it has studies behind it. New York Times

If something really bad happens, though, it's hard to explain it to kids. That's why I like this series of videos that explain to kids the kind of stuff they may have to go through if they get cancer. I hope you never need it, but here it is. Imaginary Friends Society

"I was proud that I did not cry in front of her. But on the way back, the secret service was looking straight ahead pretending they weren't hearing me as I sniffled and blew my nose. It was rough."
