Happy soon to be Halloween,

I got to hold a baby this week, an honest-to-God flesh-chunk with the sweetest baby fingers and a still soft top of skull. She seemed so unconcerned that it was I, not a recognizable parent who had charge of her. I fell back into making the little swaying motion you do and I got to give her the most satisfying pats on the back until she burped. I found all of this such a drag when it was my baby of course. I couldn't wait to be done with all the wiping and carrying. But I swear I could have changed a code-four diaper without minding a bit. Pro-tip to young parents: find an older looking lady (or even gentleman) and leave her with your kid and run off and do something naughty for a long as you want. I doubt she will even notice if you're late.

According to a study out Sweden, if you have a lot of children, you're probably an unselfish person. And, in more great news, generous, unselfish people are likely to be paid more than selfish people. Of course, you'll need all that money for all those kids, so it might be a bit of a wash, wealth-wise. If you have fewer children, the study suggests, you're probably more selfish. For the record I have two. Make of that what you wish. Science Daily.
