Lately, my team and I have been thinking a lot about career education. How do you prepare kids for the jobs of the future, some of which we can barely imagine? (For instance, are my girls going to grow up to be lunar farmers? I doubt it. But apparently, it’s a possibility. And I don’t think my school system has an elective to prepare them for it.) Helping young people learn about 21st-century careers is the goal of a new digital product we’re launching this fall, Your 🔥 Job. We just released an early version, and we’d appreciate your input. If you have a moment, we hope you’ll review the site and complete this survey. I also want to highlight one of our partners on this project: Rocket Club Academy, an at-home program that helps 7- to 14-year-olds start their own business. It guides them through a collaborative, gamified curriculum about STEAM topics—such as artificial intelligence, blockchain and cryptocurrency, climate science, 3D printing, and the metaverse—that are changing global industries. Rocket Club Academy has opened a limited number of free trials for TIME readers. If, like me, you feel only semi-prepared for helping your kids navigate the new world of work, I hope you’ll check it out. Write to me anytime: andrea@time.com. Best, Andrea |
