Introducing . . . The Parent Files! TIME's Charlotte Alter is launching a new interview series about how parenting shapes the people who shape the world.

Her first subject is New York governor Kathy Hochul, who discusses how being a full-time parent put her on the path to becoming New York’s first woman governor, how parenting shaped her policies, her biggest parenting mistake, why she was fine with being a “good enough” mom, and more.

In the coming months, the series will feature Bumble CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd, Pete Buttigieg, and Andy Cohen. I'll keep you posted when they’re published.
