Happy December! This month is often busy and stressful, but I always look forward to the payoff at the end, with family time and holiday traditions. Most of our family’s most cherished customs involve overeating, but matching pajamas, a doomed group photo shoot, and a meltdown from one of my daughters or nieces after the excitement of opening gifts all play a part.

It might be naive to think your holidays will allow you some downtime, but if you can eke it out, TIME recommends some worthwhile ways to spend it:

This is my last newsletter for 2024. I wish you and yours a happy, healthy holiday season, and I look forward to being back in your inbox and to reconnecting in January. In the meantime, you can reach me anytime at andrea@time.com.

Best,
Andrea
