| The reassuring headline "How I Am Teaching My Kids the Value of Money in the Amazon Era" makes me optimistic that this might be doable. In the article, Mita Mallick, the author of Reimagine Inclusion and a workplace strategist, explores teaching your kids the value of things in a digital age when items are purchased with the click of a button. | In this arena, do as I say, not as I do. For years, I edited a financial literacy magazine that focused on teaching children about money management and basic economics. It was incredibly challenging to distill complex financial concepts into stories that kids could understand, let alone care about. I'm proud of my team's work (all of the content is available here, for free!). But I admit that I devoted more energy to this in my professional life than in my personal life, and my kids aren't exactly experts. | What are your strategies? As always, you can reach me at andrea@time.com. | Best, Andrea |
