Still figuring out your summer plans? Procrastination might work in your favor. The best summer travel deals come on the weekend of August 25, according to new research by travel booking site Kayak. It’s not prime vacation time, of course: many children are back in school by then. But that’s the beauty of retirement -- you can travel off peak. If you’re looking for inspiration, check out MONEY’s 2018 Best in Travel picks. I’m excited that my own August vacation destination, Japan, topped the list of our 10 best international places!

Best wishes,

Elizabeth

ASK A READER

I picked up my copy of The Millionaire Next Door today and am looking forward to diving into it for our first Retire with Money book club discussion! In the coming week or so, I’ll be launching a Retire with Money Facebook group to facilitate our chat. I hope it’ll become a place where we can discuss a variety of topics, kind of like a live version of this Ask a Reader section.

Not everyone who responded to last week’s survey was enthused about joining a Facebook group. If you have any reservations, please feel free to send them my way at retirewithmoney@moneymail.com.
