Shining Stars

BY ANDREA DELBANCO Editor in Chief, TIME for Kids     Many kids have an innate optimism and can-do attitude that I wish we could bottle and share with the whole world. As parents, we can help them harness that power. I’m thrilled to announce the return of TIME for Kids Service Stars, now in its fourth year of celebrating young people who are performing acts of service, both big and small, and of encouraging others to join in. Service Stars offers kids, families, educators, and community groups the resources and inspiration needed to drive positive change in their community. The Allstate Foundation, which empowers young people to serve and improve their communities, makes this initiative possible.  Learn more about Service Stars at ti.me/stars. It’s never too soon to start encouraging kids to make acts of service part of their routine. Do you know a young person we should consider featuring? Submit their story at the site, or reach out to me directly at andrea@time.com.  Best, Andrea       Want more from TIME?
