If you’re reading this newsletter, you’re probably not going to be asked why you haven’t had a baby yet. But maybe my assumption is wrong, or maybe you’ve been in that position in the past. Moreover, if you’re tempted to ask someone else that question, don’t—even if you mean well. My colleague Angela Haupt’s story “13 Things to Say When Someone Asks Why You Haven’t Had a Baby Yet” provides expert advice on how to handle this touchy topic.

Separately, I’ll note that Thanksgiving and the winter holidays are a stressful time for parents (arguably, for everyone), and it’s not exactly relaxing to read the news right now, with emotions and geopolitical tensions running hot.
