How to Remove Background from Image on iPhone (iOS 17)
This super cool iPhone editing hack will let you remove the background from an image and paste that image wherever you'd like!
One of the most useful features on your iPhone is the ability to cut out an image from a photo and paste it anywhere you normally can paste text and images, like creating a sticker. And the best part about this super fun tip is that it's also super easy! Using artificial intelligence, you can use your iPhone to perfectly crop an object out of a picture with a simple tap of your finger.
Quickly and seamlessly remove the background from an image on iPhone and paste or share the new image wherever you'd like.
Create stickers of your loved ones, pets, and objects to paste in Notes or online for both practical reasons and just for fun!
This cool hidden feature makes it super easy to cut items, objects, or people out of an image and make the background transparent. Although this trick is a fun way to create stickers of people, animals, and objects, it's no substitute for Photoshop. If you want to add a person or an object to another photo, you'll still need photo editing software. But if you just want to create custom stickers that you can paste in all the normal places, this is the tip for you! If you like cool tips and tricks like this about how to use your Apple devices, be sure to sign up for our free Tip of the Day! Here's how to cut something out of a picture on iPhone.
To remove an image from its background, open your Photos app.
Select a photo you'd like to cut out an image from. Make sure to choose an image with a clear subject that doesn't blend into the background too much.
Tap on the subject, hold briefly, and then release. You will see the object outlined in silver. Tap Copy or Share.
You can paste these stickers in messages, emails, notes, and anywhere else you might include a photo, but do note that you can't paste them on top of other photos without photo editing software.
And that's how you remove an image from its background. This is a super-fun and simple trick that I find myself using all the time now. Although the AI isn't perfect and doesn't always cut out exactly the image you'd like, it's pretty impressive how close it gets and how quickly it works. It even gets the general outline of my extremely fat and fluffy cat, albeit a bit blurry. I hope you have as much fun with this feature as we have been having here! Now, find out how to make animated stickers and more from Live Photos!
When I want to edit text, how do I accurately position the cursor? Pointing to a character with my fat finger seldom works. Having to delete everything right to left to the point I want to be is frustrating.
Sincerely, Greg

Dear Greg,
I have a tip that lets you precisely position the cursor while typing, making it much faster and easier to edit texts, emails, and messages on your iPhone! Next time you’re using your keyboard, simply press and hold one finger on the spacebar, and the keyboard will turn light gray, essentially transforming it into a digital trackpad! Now, just like with a trackpad, slide your finger to move the cursor where you need it and lift your finger to drop it exactly where you want it. I hope this helps!
